The Enneagram at Work
Sometimes it takes a moment of inner reflection to gain your most beneficial results. Recently our Chief Experience Officer, Robin Hampton, sent the internal team an invitation to dive into the world of Enneagrams. After using the link she’d shared, everyone began to call out where their numbers landed. Understanding the personality traits your teammates possess offers a greater perspective on your office and work dynamic. At Stratice, we took this as a reminder of how individuals can enable your team. Letting that impact spread into the workplace brings on more significant support for each other.
Mindset Matters
Your mindset matters. In a time of widespread distraction and stressful environments, are you taking steps to be your best self in and out of the office? Regardless of what industry you find yourself in, having your voice as a fixed asset is impactful. Both your performance and your workplace environment stand to gain from what you bring to the table. It’s essential to do this for your team, but the importance of holding yourself to a standard can map out your plan to success. Be systematic about what your personal tools for success are. Take those tools and prove how they make the difference in how not only your peers see you, but more significant than that, how you see yourself.
Courting for the Company
It’s a two-way street. The applicant wants to make sure they are what the company needs. The company wants to make sure they are projecting its unique set of values and culture to attract the right candidates. Shifting gears into the direction for the hiring team, the bold-faced question should be: Are you courting your ideal employee? If it doesn’t feel like your atmosphere is unique, then it’s time to reevaluate who your business is at its most effective. Strategic hiring doesn’t mean actively denying opportunities to all but one type of applicant but making sure your established values are being expanded. Where they’ve been and their experiences are the fundamentals, aligning with your company’s growth trajectory is the vitals. No matter your industry, building up the business and those who work there is a strengthening tool. Going back to our analogy of mimicking a dating game, you’re the host of the show and the suitor all wrapped up in one.
The Company Culture Game
Looking for a job brings uncertainty, stress, and plenty of heartaches. The job description could be right on the money, but the company culture will end up being a deal-breaker. Sometimes it can feel like it’s all one big game you have to play. In light of an era that latches onto reality TV, a quick comparison could be to the feeling that you’re on a dating game show. Daunting as that may sound, going into the process with this mindset could prevent the nuisance of falling into an incompatible work environment.
